We’re the originator of engineered soil in baseball and continually push the industry toward improvements in field solutions. Our innovative processes and products have set the standard for how infields should perform and changed the expectation for how much rain a field should take before play is suspended.

Before DuraEdge, infield materials were harvested and came from local quarries meaning they lacked specifications. But, DuraEdge founder Grant McKnight believed soil science could change baseball for the better. When his local college team struggled with poor field quality, he set out to improve the field’s safety and playability. Using his background of developing custom soils for golf courses that require strict specifications, he created a scientific method to analyze how a field’s soil properties impacted playability. His initial blend was a hit with the local team and he set out to continue to produce replicable mixes utilizing strict specifications which then became Grant’s Engineered Soil Technology (E.S.T.). DuraEdge found its way to Major League Baseball and set the standard for safe and playability infields. We understand that every field is different/unique. FairBall Topdressing is engineered to stay in place and give you more coverage and provide less particle breakdown, which means fewer applications and makes FairBall the most economical topdressing on the market. The volume of product recommended per infield is greatly reduced from industry standard, giving you the opportunity to apply FairBall on more fields.

ProDry

ProDry is engineered to quickly remove standing water. Our screening process removes very fine particles and dust meaning this material can be dragged in the following day without compromising the integrity of your infield skin. In addition to water removal, ProDry will leave a clean, finely manicured appearance without creating a layering effect.

DURAEDGE Platinum

New DuraEdge PLATINUM —a high-performance combination of the former ProSlide Platinum (10 x 16) and ProSlide Professional (8 x 12).

DuraEdge PLATINUM is engineered to be the most consistent medium gradation particle size topdressing. Reduced fines and smaller particles means more coverage and less clumping when dragging in wet conditions. Higher density and hardness results in less breakdown, less migration of particle and that equates to fewer applications and less contamination.
